Highlights from the government media office regarding the continuation of the Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Gaza Strip for the eighth day in a row:

🔹 We pray for our people who rose up in the West Bank and were killed yesterday. This is a clear message to the whole world that the occupation knows only the language of murder and destruction.

🔹 The number of casualties from the aggression reached more than 2,215 killed and more than 8,714 injured or wounded, while the number of displaced persons reached approximately 400,000 spread across 159 shelters, including 60 centers in Gaza City and the north.

More than 2,268 of Palestinians are killed and 8,714 of them injured or wounded by the Israeli Occupational Force by now.

🔹 The Israeli occupation completely destroyed more than 1,695 buildings, towers, and residential buildings, while more than 7,000 residential units have been completely destroyed.

🔹 More than 69,050 housing units have been partially or severely damaged, while 4,679 became uninhabitable.

🔹 As the aggression continued, 21 educational staff and hundreds of students were uprooted, with 124 schools damaged and 14 schools completely demolished by the occupation.

🔹 We affirm that our people, through their steadfastness, have thwarted the occupation’s attempt at forced displacement. The occupation, in its stupidity, showed the lie of talk about safe areas and corridors through the [attack on the] convoy of displaced people yesterday, as well as the raids carried out by the occupation targeting areas that it claims are safe, such as Deir al-Balah and West al-Nuseirat.

🔹 We deplore the intention of some field hospitals to withdraw from the Gaza Strip when their services are most needed. This unfortunate behavior contradicts their professional humanitarian role, as well as national and religious dimensions. We call on them to reverse this decision.

🔹 We hold the Secretary-General of the United Nations himself legally and morally responsible for the threat of forced evacuation that hospitals and health facilities are subjected to. We affirm that we will not abandon our role in providing services to the wounded and sick, and will not respond to these threats. They would mean a death sentence for hundreds of sick and wounded.

🔹 We condemn the behavior of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees in leaving for southern Gaza, abandoning its humanitarian role and its present obligations towards the displaced in particular, and more generally civilians and especially refugees. This behavior was not limited to withdrawing employees and abandoning the shelters it supervises but unfortunately extended to a failure to take responsibility for the displaced people who headed to the south of Wadi Gaza. There, the agency did not provide any services, whether in terms of providing shelter places or providing bare necessities.

🔹 We remind [UNRWA] that its withdrawal from Gaza City and the north does not relieve it of its responsibility towards all the displaced, especially the refugees, in these areas. We denounce its withholding of the aid that was to be provided in these shelters, and that it keeps it in its warehouses until the present moment.
