This invasion, the occupation classified as part of a “military operation” that began at dawn last Wednesday and included the governorates of Tulkarm, Jenin and Tubas in the northern West Bank, is the largest since 2002; and resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens of Palestinians.

In a press correspondence, a resident of “Nour Shams” spoke about what the occupation army did to the camp during the period of the invasion, which he described as “large” and came after an Israeli incitement campaign, considering it a strong incubator for the resistance.

An eyewitness said that the occupation forces raided Nour Shams camp at dawn on Wednesday, first, with military vehicles, including “D9” bulldozers; before imposing A security cordon was placed on the camp, coinciding with the deployment of snipers on the roofs of buildings. And they opened it in Al-Manshiya neighborhood, before they stormed it, and this continued for two hours.

He pointed out that the occupation used a 10-year-old girl as a “human shield”, and forced her to advance in front of them and knock on the doors of houses and open them in the Manshiyeh neighborhood, before storming them, and this continued for two hours.

He noted that the occupation stormed some houses and gathered their members in one room without allowing them to move or eat or drink, and the occupation soldiers destroyed the contents of the houses and arrested the young men from them.

He mentioned that the occupation blew up some houses and set fire to others, after leaving them, indicating: “The fires were spreading to some neighboring houses without being able to control them.”

According to what the eyewitness reported, the occupation forces prevented the civil defense crews and relief teams from entering Nour Shams camp to control the fires, and targeted them with bullets.

“Daif Sand” explained: “One of the houses that the occupation set fire to was next to a shop selling cooking gas cylinders, and inhabited houses, and the fire spread to the neighboring houses; the fire was controlled before it reached the gas shop and a real disaster was avoided.”

He continued: “As a result of this fire, some citizens in a neighboring building suffered from suffocation, and the occupation refused to allow the medical crews and civil defense to enter to evacuate them.”

He pointed out that “some young men moved on their own responsibility, and volunteered to put out the fire and controlled it partially, and when they tried to evacuate the residents of the building, they were shot by the occupation snipers.” During the raid, the occupation forces targeted the water lines in the camp, which led to a water outage in many areas, and the electricity was cut off from some homes.

The occupation forces forced some families to evacuate their homes and head to the main street near Nour Shams camp; before the vehicles prevented them from advancing near the main street and returned them back inside the camp; “The occupation soldiers prevented the citizens from reaching their homes and forced them to stay on the roads.”

Local residents said in accounts obtained by “Sanad News Agency” about the aggression on Nour Shams camp, that the occupation forces blew up a number of homes inside the camp without evacuating the citizens from the neighboring homes.

The residents explained: “In the clinic neighborhood in the camp, the occupation soldiers blew up the house of the martyr Abdul Jabbar Sabbagh (Al-Dahruki), without evacuating the house next to it, which led to a fire breaking out in the yard of the house; before the residents were able to control it amid the danger of them going out into the yard due to the presence of snipers.” The sources pointed out that the occupation forces arrested a citizen and his sons from their home in the Manshiyya neighborhood in “Nour Shams”, and transferred them to a field investigation center in Balawi Square near Saif roundabout in the camp.

During the raid, the occupation forces arrested a number of young men and severely beat them. The sources confirmed: “Many young men were released and transferred to ambulance crews as a result of the harm and torture they were subjected to.”

It is worth noting that the West Bank has witnessed an escalation in Israeli raids since the outbreak of the last war on the Gaza Strip ten months ago, and according to Palestinian medical sources, these attacks have left more than 667 martyrs and more than 5,600 wounded since last October.

They added: “Some young men were transferred by the occupation to the Tsan’ioz camp, and the bodies of the martyrs they were holding were shown to them, including the commander of the Tulkarm Battalion, the martyr Muhammad Jaber (Abu Shuja), and they said to them: We killed Abu Shuja for you.”

After four assassination attempts by the occupation, the commander of the Tulkarm Battalion, Muhammad Jaber, known as “Abu Shuja”, and a number of his comrades were martyred yesterday, Thursday, and the occupation detained their bodies.
